Why Brass Bird?

When trying to create a name for our coffee shop, we wanted to embody a sense of warmth, elegance, family and quality, but choosing a name was so hard. While discussing names and ideas, I glanced over at my late grandmother’s brass birds on our bookshelf. These birds were passed down to me from my mother’s mother, Theodora (Teddy) and have always given me the warm feelings that I wanted the coffee shop to embody. Voila, our name was born.

Who We Are

We have always loved to create spaces with a sense of hospitality, a little whimsy and a lot of quality and attention to detail. For years, we have wanted to open a café that invites community to enjoy a beautiful space to enjoy quality coffee, baked goods and delicious food in the special city of Carpinteria. After years of dreaming, Brass Bird Coffee was born.

Our Philosophy

Our motto is always to “do it the right way”. From our cashiers, to our baristas to our chefs, we encourage a sense of responsibility to our customers to do things the way we would want them done for ourselves.
